BARNS OUTFITTERS is an American casual brand from Tokyo that started in 1985.
The brand expresses the dry atmosphere of the 1950s to 1970s in the U.S. by using “carefully selected materials,” “VINTAGE sewing specifications,” and “processing techniques that have been studied over and over again.
It is a brand that develops items that you can feel good old America somehow even if they are standard items.
Also, like hay, we make our products with the wish that they will “become better even if time goes by”.
TSURIAMI WIDE PARKA
The fabric is knitted in Wakayama Prefecture, which is famous for its sweatshirts, on a “hang knitting machine” that has been in existence since the Taisho Era (1912-1926). The hang knitting machine, which does not apply unnecessary tension to the yarn and knits it slowly while letting air in, can produce only about 12 to 13 pieces per day.
Fabrics knitted on the hang knitting machine have a moderate fit, natural elasticity, and a pleasant feel against the skin. The fabric is also made with a “round body” design with no seams on the sides, which provides a stress-free fit. Furthermore, even after repeated washing, the comfort level remains the same, and the garment adapts to the body through repeated wear.
The wide type, which has been requested by many customers, is now available. This wide type is made by adjusting the gauge to make it wider than the standard hang knitting series.
The length is adjusted to match the width of the body and shoulders, resulting in a loose yet well-balanced size.◎吊り編みパーカーのワイドモデル。
BARNS OUTFITTERSは1985年にスタートした東京発のアメカジブランド。
1950年代〜1970年代のアメリカの当時の乾いた空気感を「厳選された素材」「VINTAGEの縫製仕様」「研究を重ねた加工技術」などを駆使して表現しています。
スタンダードな物もどこか古き良きアメリカを感じていただけるアイテムを展開しているブランドです。
また干し草のように”時を重ねてもより良い物になるように”との思いもこめて物造りをしています。
生地はスウェットの産地でも有名な和歌山県で、大正時代から現存する「吊り編み機」で編まれた生地を採用。糸に余計なテンションをかけず、空気を含ませながらゆっくりと編んでいく吊り編み機は1日に約12〜13枚ほどしか生産できません。
「吊り編み機」で編まれた生地は適度なフィット感と、自然な伸縮性や肌触りの良さが魅力です。また脇に縫い目のない“丸胴”仕様となる為、ストレスフリーな着心地を実現しています。さらに洗濯を繰り返してもその着心地の良さは変わらず着用を繰り返すことで身体に馴染んできます。

お客様よりリクエストの多かったワイドタイプが登場です。定番の吊り編みシリーズよりもワイドな幅になるようゲージ調整して出来上がったワイドタイプ。
ただ大きくしただけでなく、身幅・肩幅のサイズに合わせて着丈を調整し、緩さもありながらもバランスの取れたサイズに仕上がっております。
立体感のあるフード。
緩すぎず、締め付け過ぎない袖と裾のリブ。カンガルーポケット。
裏毛の為長いシーズン着て頂けます。
